Alan Williams
Alan Williams (1935-2020) was the son of the actor Emlyn Williams and the author of a series of classic Cold War thrillers which led to him being described as “the natural successor to Ian Fleming”. Barbouze, Dead Secret, The Tale of the Lazy Dog, Gentleman Traitor (inspired by Kim Philby), Shah-Mak, and Holy of Holies all feature the enormously fat and amiable villain Charles Pol; other titles are Long Run South, The Beria Papers, The Widow’s War, The Brotherhood, and Snake Water. They have all been reissued by Sapere Books.
