Ros Carne
Ros Carne has a background in journalism and law, and was a theatre critic for the Financial Times and the Guardian before training as a barrister. She has recently worked as an ethics examiner for the Bar Standards Board, but now writes full-time.
Her debut novel The Pupil (Canelo, 2020) is a nuanced and absorbing psychological suspense drama about an escalating battle for territory - both professional and personal - between two ambitious women: a successful London barrister and her attractive, unscrupulous pupil. Her latest psychological thriller The Stepmother (Canelo, 2021) explores an already fractured marriage whose tensions are further exposed when the husband’s adult daughter moves in.
