Sharon Bolton

Sharon Bolton is an internationally acclaimed thriller writer, winner of the Amazon ‘Rising Stars’ Award and the Mary Higgins Clark Award (US), and nominee for the International Thriller Writers’ Best First Novel Award, the Crime Writers’ Association Gold Dagger and the 2022 Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award, Theakstons’ Crime Novel of the Year Award (twice), and the Barry Award (US), among others. In 2014 Sharon was awarded CWA’s Dagger in the Library for her whole body of work.

Her very popular Lacey Flint series features one of crime fiction’s most memorable police-officer heroines, and currently comprises 5 novels and several short stories. The much anticipated 5th novel in this series, entitled The Dark, was published in May 2022 by Orion.

Equally impressive are her stand-alone thrillers: Sacrifice (film adaptation released in 2015), Awakening, Blood Harvest, Little Black Lies, Daisy in Chains and Dead Woman Walking (all published by Penguin Random House).

The Craftsman and The Buried are dark, haunting thrillers featuring police detective Florence Lovelady. The stand-alone novel The Split (2020) is a compelling psychological drama, set partly in Cambridge and partly on the bleakly beautiful Antarctic island of South Georgia. The Pact (2021) is an outstanding thriller in which six 18-yr-old friends with glittering futures ahead of them cause a fatal car crash. Sharon’s latest novel is The Fake Wife, due to be published in November 2023. All these novels are published by Orion.
