Sharon Bolton is an internationally acclaimed thriller writer, winner of the Amazon ‘Rising Stars’ Award and the Mary Higgins Clark Award (US), and nominee for the International Thriller Writers’ Best First Novel Award, the Crime Writers’ Association Gold Dagger Award, Theakstons’ Crime Novel of the Year Award (twice), and the Barry Award (US), among others.
Her very popular Lacey Flint series features one of crime fiction’s most memorable police-officer heroines, and currently comprises 4 novels and several short stories. Equally impressive are her stand-alone thrillers: Sacrifice (film adaptation released in 2015), Awakening, Blood Harvest, Little Black Lies, Daisy in Chains and Dead Woman Walking. All the above listed books are published by Transworld (Penguin Random House). In 2014 Sharon was awarded CWA’s Dagger in the Library for her whole body of work.
The Craftsman is the first book in a planned trilogy, and the first for her new publisher, Trapeze at Orion Books. Her latest stand-alone novel The Split (2020) is a compelling psychological drama, set partly in Cambridge and partly on the bleakly beautiful Antarctic island of South Georgia.
