Bloomsbury’s Raven flies in to claim Sally Smith’s debut murder mystery series
We are delighted to reveal that the first two novels in Sally Smith’s wonderfully intriguing and atmospheric murder mystery series, set at the outset of the Edwardian era, will be published by Bloomsbury’s Raven imprint.
Each book in this very special series is centred in the Temple, an area of legal London with a long and extraordinary history; to this day, it has an independent status akin to that of the Vatican City, and the City of London police enter only by consent.
Therese Keating at Raven acquired UK & Commonwealth rights from Anne-Marie Doulton, who is also handling US and Canadian rights. The Buckman Agency is handling the translation rights, and German-language rights have already been pre-empted by Goldmann, amid a fever of interest from publishers in other countries.
Many congratulations, Sally! Those of us lucky enough to have read Body of Evidence, the first in your series, are eagerly awaiting Book 2….
