Deals galore!

We at Ampersand pride ourselves on the breadth of publishers with whom we work, and in the last month have done deals which admirably demonstrate this.

Cora Harrison will write two more Reverend Mother books for Severn House, and Alan Williams’ classic Cold War thrillers are enjoying a new lease of life with Endeavour Press.

Graham Minett will be writing further psychological thrillers (in the vein of The Hidden Legacy) for Bonnier, and Richard Jarman has been commissioned to write a biography of Leo Abse MP, a colourful and controversial politician and writer who played a crucial role in getting Parliament to decriminalise homosexuality, for Biteback.

Elsewhere, Amberley Publishing have had an offer accepted for Harry Shapiro’s Fierce Chemistry, his history of the war on drugs, aiming to publish in 2018, and OUP in New York have acquired rights in Rebecca Roache’s WTF: the norms and forms of swearing.

We have also agreed option renewals for Ivo Stourton’s The Happier Dead and Vikas Swarup’s The Accidental Apprentice.

Enjoy your summers, and keep the submissions coming!
